A member asked:

Is anal sex ok right after cervical colposcopy biopsy ?

Not designed for sex: There are billions of bacteria coming down into the anal-rectal area all day long... such as E. coli, Klebsiella, and all sorts of other species. Scientists say there are more bacteria in the intestinal tract than there are human cells in our entire body (we are outnumbered). To stay safe, an anus should be reserved for the activity it was designed for, just pooping.

It's up to her: Anal intercourse is not necessarily healthy even under normal circumstances and it's a decision she needs to make with full information. If the soreness is gone, the biopsy shouldn't be a special problem.

Would wait: While I don't disagree with the former comment, if you indulge regardless, do wait for a couple of days to allow healing. Anal sex can irritate the cervical tissues that were just biopsies, leading to new problems
