Antihistamines/ COPD: http://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/COPD-medication-guidelines Antihistamine dry up mucus which make getting rid of it difficult But if is there is lots of nasal congestion & post nasal drip interfering with sleep it may be helpful . Also elevate head of bed to help with drainage and improve breathing. If there is HTN check for pseudoehprine/ phenylepherine which elevate BP f/u/doc

How bad is COPD?: Benadryl and any medications that can induce sleep may reduce your urged to take a breath. If your COPD is bad enough that you have to use oxygen, then you should not be using any medication that can make it harder for you to breathe
