Folate (folic acid) critical: All vitamins and minerals that are always needed are also needed during pregnancy but folate has been found to be particularly important. Also important to get at least 600 iu of vitamin d. Otherwise, she should eat lots of fruits, veggies, nuts, beans, seeds, whole grains, and wild fish like salmon.
