Constipation: Use apple or prune juice to soften stools- 6-8 ozs a day. Pedialyte is an electrolyte solution for dehydration but will not soften stools. Also increase fiber in diet- such as increased whole fruits and vegetables. Here are some ideas about healthy eating https://www.choosemyplate.gov/variety

Prune Juice: I would recommend prune juice for constipation as a first step. It is always important to discuss it with your pediatrician, be sure he has a normal exam and is followed correctly. Prune juice is a good start.
