My friend was recently diagnosed with the flu. i was around him before the confirmation. i don't have a flu shot. i have asthma. what should i do?

Call doc. Tamiflu?: Discuss this ASAP with the doctor or clinic where your asthma is treated. If you were closely exposed to your friend and your doctor believes you are at risk of influenza, s/he may prescribe preventive treatment, e.g. with oseltamivir (TamifluĀ®). They may also recommend influenza vaccination. For sure you need the flu shot next year.

Influenza: If you develop any symptoms immediately get a nasopharyngeal PCR swab to see if influenza is present so that Tamiflu can be prescribed to abbreviate the illness
