Depends: For how long have you had it? Can you think of anything that may have caused it? Trauma, stretching, bumped or pulled it? If there is no obvious cause then the concern is a deep venous thrombosis. This is NOT a emergency as below knee clots are not thought to cause problems but need to be evaluated. See your doctor in the morning to arrange a blood test (d dimer) or an ultrasound.
