No: Tapeworms, or Taenia sagomata, come from undercooked beef or pork. The article you read warns about uncooked fish. The canning process eliminates almost all bacteria. So, if the canned salmon is cooked, then there is little to worry about. Best prevention: avoid uncooked salmon.
