Depending on the: location of your herpetic infection, you can get lymph node enlargement. If it is type 1 on the lips/ mouth/ face, you may only get lymph node swelling in the neck or jaw. Many causes: Lymph enlargement is the result of an immune response to an invader and thus nonspecific. But if you have an active outbreak , you will need to assume that the herpes II is causing it. You can confirm this with a blood test (IgM to HSVII) .
