I was told by my doc that i have types 1 & 2 herpes . but i also had swollen lymph nodes is that from the herpes?

Depending on the: location of your herpetic infection, you can get lymph node enlargement. If it is type 1 on the lips/ mouth/ face, you may only get lymph node swelling in the neck or jaw. If it is herpes type 2 in the groin area, then you should expect lymph node enlargement there. Thanks for trusting in HealthTap.

Many causes: Lymph enlargement is the result of an immune response to an invader and thus nonspecific. But if you have an active outbreak , you will need to assume that the herpes II is causing it. You can confirm this with a blood test (IgM to HSVII) .
