HERPES SYMPTOMS: I am assuming you mean herpes simplex commonly known as cold sores. Symptoms are itching and burning, blisters located mainly on the lips and face, also on the genital areas. Occasionally on the fingers, buttocks, and other areas of the skin. Highly contagious. Caused by viruses.

Herpes: Genital herpes live in the nerves of the skin around where you get infected. Flares are small clear bumps (vesicles) that break open and then cause painful sores. Extremely infectious if you see the bumps or the sores! you can get antivirals to decrease the outbreaks and reduce the symptoms, but once you get it, it's for life!

Burning/tingling: When the vesicles are starting to form, many people experience tingling in the area followed by burning or stinging. In the resolution phase, it can cause itching.
