HERPES SYMPTOMS: I am assuming you mean herpes simplex commonly known as cold sores. Symptoms are itching and burning, blisters located mainly on the lips and face, also on the genital areas. Occasionally on the fingers, buttocks, and other areas of the skin. Highly contagious. Caused by viruses.

Herpes: Genital herpes live in the nerves of the skin around where you get infected. Flares are small clear bumps (vesicles) that break open and then cause painful sores. Extremely infectious if you see the bumps or the sores! you can get antivirals to decrease the outbreaks and reduce the symptoms, but once you get it, it's for life!

Burning/tingling: When the vesicles are starting to form, many people experience tingling in the area followed by burning or stinging. In the resolution phase, it can cause itching.

Variable: Genital herpes can cause the typical ulcers or sore but it may also present in other ways such as burning with urination, itching without discharge, vaginal irritation with mild spotting. Your doctor can do some very sensitive tests to check whether the symptoms you have are due to herpes. Check the cdc.Gov website for more information on herpes and other stis.

Depends on type!: If referring to hsv1 or hsv2 or even varicella zoster virus (hhv3) will cause a rash. All three can cause either or both pain and itching. Fever, malaise can be present as well- but not everyone gets all of these at once. A visit to your doctor is most appropriate if you think you have herpes.

Herpes Symptoms: The virus starts to multiply when it gets into the skin cells. The skin becomes red and sensitive, and soon afterward, one or more blisters or bumps appear. The blisters first open, scab over, and then heal as new skin tissue forms. During a first outbreak, the area is usually painful and may itch, burn or tingle. Flu-like symptoms are also common: swollen glands, headache, muscle aches, fever.
