Cycle change: As this is a change for you; be checked. Never assume it is normal or related to your age. An exam with a Pap smear and a pelvic ultrasound would be important. All the best.

Menses: Given that the change has been recurrent and the same. That is bleeding has changed, but has remained the same in the new pattern I would think this is more a hormonal change. Do you have or have you had other issues. Cancer risk? Fibroids? What is your family history as to menopause?
