Oblique strain: The oblique muscles are located between the lower ribs and pelvis, on both the left and right side. They work together to produce twisting movements or side bending of the trunk. Symptoms may include ; tightness and pain in the region of the lower ribs, treatment - consists of rest, ice, and compression. Healing times range from 3-4 weeks. Your md may order physical therapy for prolonged cases.
