Viral Infection: Many children get vomiting and diarrhea when they have a viral infection. When this occurs, children need fluids (like Pedialyte) and rest. Worsening symptoms such as high fever, abdominal pain, continued vomiting and diarrhea, decreased urination will need evaluation by a physician.

Hard to say: There are some viruses that have both a respiratory & Gi component.Diarrhea can also be triggered by a number of food/med or other issues.A stomach bug is more often seen when vomiting is a sign but diarrhea can be a feature. Regardless, as long as you keep the kid hydrated and fed, it should gradually improve.If she is not interested in drinking/eating or playing it would be good to have her seen
