Drainage of lymph: Lymph is a natural fluid made by the immune system (lymphatic system) to keep the body healthy. Any foreign material or waste product that persists in the blood (after liver) gets to the lymph system, where it is processed & "surveyed" to make sure there's nothing harmful. If there is, it goes to the immune cells to clean up. Lungs need it just like every other organ.
