Vaginal infection: The most common cause of vaginal discharge with strong odor is bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of mostly normal bacteria. The odor often is strongest after sex. However, this soon after delivery, and with visible blood, other infections also are likely. Return to your obstetrician and get it checked out. Best to avoid sex until then. Probably not serious, but better safe than sorry!
