Bacterial vaginosis?: The main cause of strong vaginal odor is bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of mostly normal vaginal bacteria. It's usually easily treated, but BV is more frequent in women at risk for STD, so STD testing (gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomonas) is necessary. Other kinds of infection also are possible. See your doctor for diagnosis and treatment. Good luck!
