Yes: The failure rate for tha paragard copper t iud is about 1%. If you have symptoms, you need a pregnancy test. If you are indeed pregnant there is a significant risk that t you have an ectopic pregnancy and you should see your doctor immediately.

Low chance pregnacy: The paragard iud is an excellent contraception. It is almost as good as having your tubes tied. You should check your string. If it is present, then your iud is in place and there is a low chance of pregnancy but, if you are having symptoms, then you should do a pregnancy test.
