Dermatomyositis: This is an inflammatory disease of the muscles of usually the upper arms, and hip, pelvic area. It also is associated with a myriad of skin manifestations which are usually red papule on the fingers called Gottrons papule, a V shaped rash on the chest or upper back, and red, violet colored rash of eyelids, or more generally of the face. The muscle biosy and skin biopsy confirm the result.
