Don't be worried: or scared, you can make sure you aren't diabetic by a simple accucheck random blood sugar test. As for the different taste, bitter for sweet, that can be 'Cacogeusia', (meaning bad taste in mouth) many common reasons for such, as medications, dental problems, gastric problems, etc.. you may want to see your dentist and your primary doctor for that , best wishes

GERD: It sounds like you may have gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). This can present with a metallic taste in the mouth. Dysgusia , your altered taste, is also a phenomenon found with dental procedures, oral candidiasis, zinc deficiency and GERD in my opinion. Also Rx can cause this (meds) need full history and exam. Nexium 20 qd ( it's over the counter yes). Stay calm and start nexium then see MD
