Antibiotic need: by your symptoms it sounds like you likely have an upper respiratory infection which in most cases is caused by a virus and can be treated with nasal saline and decongestants. If your symptoms do not start to alleviate within 5-7 days a bacterial infection may be present and you should be evaluated by a physician to see if you need to be treated with an antibiotic. Hope you feel better soon
