What ever: the suttle difference infection of gum or around teeth the most common cause of loos of teeth . At 30 you don't want to loose them , see your dentist immediately and keep them for next 5o yrs or more with proper care.

Degree: It's a matter of degree. Superficially your Dentist will be able to document more inflammation, bleeding, and recession as you transition from gingivitis to periodontitis. Dentist will start to see bone loss on x-rays. Dentist will note pocketing around roots of teeth, and teeth may loosen or drift. Evaluation by a Periodontist may be in order.
