Ulcers: It is not uncommon to have outbreaks of ulcers during times of stress and/or respiratory infections. Some may be Herpes and may respond to medications like valacyclovir but only if taken early on in the disease phase. Otherwise, these sores are treated mainly by conservative measures and antiseptic/analgesic mouthwashes. Depending on extent, a careful dose of topical steroids may be used.
