Norovirus: Norovirus - a virus that causes gastrointestinal symptoms - is spread through direct contact so in theory if somewhat had the virus on their hands - like trying to stop a vomiting episode - and pet their dog - and someone then touched that area it is possible to get it. Good handwashing breaks the cycle of virus transmission. See https://www.cdc.gov/norovirus/downloads/keyfacts.pdf
