No. Need spinal tap!: Pseudotumor cerebri is caused by abnormally elevated pressures of the CSF - a clear fluid that surrounds the brain. There is no anatomical deformity associated with it. Therefore, to diagnose the condition, you need a lumbar puncture ("spinal tap") WITH measurement of the opening pressure to diagnose. The spinal tap will also decompress CSF & help symptoms if this is the diagnosis. CT no help. GL!
