In general: "severe kyphosis" = 70 degrees or over...Perhaps doctors are hoping that with physical therapy and certain EXERCISES you can prevent further curvature or IMPROVE that aspect of your kyphosis which is POSTURAL> Hope this information is helpful! Dr Z
