It can: Diabetes mellitus - type 1 as well as 2 ,both can make you prone for infections of lungs which is otherwise called pneumonia, bronchitis when it affects the breathing tree . Also DM affects blood vessels overall anywhere in the body ,can involve small as well as big vessels -especially arteries ,so can involve the vessels of the lung also.
