How common is it for doctor to utilise the neck or jugular vein during an ep study/ablation?? how much does this increase the risk ?

It is rare to need: to obtain venous access through a jugular approach during EP testing. Most procedures are accessed through the groin and occasionally the left subclavian. In well trained, experienced hands there is no appreciable increase in risk, discomfort or complications.
