Cause of toothache ?: Are you infected? Is the pain due to a deep cavity or a cracked filling? Does it hurt with cold or sweets, when you bite down on the tooth, or all the time? Antibiotics are useless for a non infected tooth, and even if infected, will only abate the symptoms somewhat. Maybe you can see a dentist while traveling, as an emergency, at least to determine what the problem is and if it can wait.

Toothache: The best thing to do is to see a dentist before your trip or asap once you arrive at your destination. You'd be better off taking some OTC pain medication with you just in case. Antibiotics may or may not help for an infection but will do nothing for a toothache from other causes. You should also never self medicate yourself with antibiotics as you may even cause a more serious problem.

Antibiotic: Antibiotic may reduce inflammation for as long as taken, but 1) infection will come roaring back when antibiotic discontinued and 2) 2 was long time to be on antibiotic and may cause GI distress. You really need definitive dental treatment immediately.
