Need information: about ultrasound to comment, and you should speak with your doctor to explain. Head circumference is usually about the same size at a specified gestational age, so significantly smaller or larger could suggest intrauterine viral infection or hydrocephalus. GI abnormalities can occur as well, and it is helpful to know before birth what to expect so plans for repair after birth can be made.
