Safer alternatives..: Although melatonin is available OTC, the pregnancy category is not defined and it's side effect profile suggest avoiding use during pregnancy. At 8 months of pregnancy however, the risk is less. Benadryl is category B and thus safer for use during pregnancy. Consulting doc is advisable now that you are closer to delivery.
