A member asked:

Can a ct scan show the difference between granulomas and lymphoma of a swollen lump node in the neck?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Perhaps: CT is a great test that shows lymph nodes in the neck well. Granulomas usually demonstrate some degree of calcification but not always. Also, they tend to be smaller. Lymphoma nodes are not usually calcified, are larger, more numerous etc. There is, as you can imagine some overlap and a biopsy is usually recommended.
