OK to be vaccinated: Congratulations on your plan to get the flu vaccine. In theory, having an active infection might reduce the effectiveness of any vaccine. But it's actually a very rare problem, if it occurs at all. Even though people are often advised to delay influenza immunization if they have a cold, there's really no need. The vaccine will work fine and no harm will come. Go ahead and do it whenever you wish.
