Rarely even for MD's: Differentiating between ovarian cyst pain and ectopic pregnancy is difficult for the laymen/patient. Even trained GYN MD's have to have an "index of suspicion" to look for ectopic pregnancies. The biggest clue for you is a missed or abnormal period (lighter than normal) and intermittent pain. The urine PG test may even be negative. See a MD and obtain an ultrasound & blood PG test when that occurs
