It could be...: Hi Chastity, you could be experiencing afib or a related heart rhythm problem. These can be episodic, so that by the time you get evaluated, everything is back to normal and the test results are negative. The best thing would be to get a wearable monitor (called Holters or event recorders, can be worn for 1 to 30 days) so that if this happens again, the monitor will record your heart rhythm.

Could have: been "paroxysmal atrial fib or more commonly PAT (paroxysmal atrial tachycardia....If it repeats cardiac Holter 24 hour tape can be performed by Cardiologist (Equipment available in many Cardiologist's Office! Hope this helps! Dr Z

Recommend monitor: A fast heart rate of 180+ could be AFib, A Flutter, PSVT, or other dysrhythmias. If irregular, AFib is likely. Discuss an event or Holter monitor with your physician.
