Tongue bumps are OK: Those are called "lingual tonsils" (different than the palatine tonsils you usually think of of the sides of the throat) and are a type of taste bud. You probably noticed them because you were sticking your tongue out extra far to examine your throat. They are supposed to be there. There are also some larger "circumvallate papillae" taste buds back there you might have noticed too.
