Depends on dosing: A rule of thumb is it takes 5 half lives to eliminate a medication from the body. A half life is typically a dosing frequency. I.e, a medication taken once daily will take 5 dosing intervals or 5 days. A medication taken every 12 hours will take 5 dosing intervals or 5 x 12 hrs= 2.5 days.
