Dyspnea & hi-thyroid: Dyspnea may occur for many reasons in hyperthyroidism: increase in oxygen consumption leading to hypoxemia; increase in co2 production leading to hypercapnia; respiratory muscle weakness; decreased lung volume; an anatomical such as partial airway obstruction from a large goiter is also possible; exacerbation of underlying asthma; pulmonary hypertension. Proper treatment can correct all these.
