A member asked:

Second month ever of birth control. no period and i'm on my 5th day of placebo pills. should i be worried about pregnancy? my periods are irregular.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Can do a preg. test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, or medications. A correctly done urine test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 wk after when conception might have been) or 1 week after missing a withdrawal period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real but a negative result may be due to testing too soon.
