Get checked: If a small piece of thread that was not attached to the idea came out then this is most likely just a part of the thread that the doctor trimmed after insertion. It is always a good idea of a new IUD insertion to schedule follow up for a quick exam or sometimes a sonogram to confirm proper placement and location
