Pregnancy test: If you are not the care of a doctor, you should be so that you may take pre-natal vitamins for the health of your baby. Conception, as defined by the generation of a fertilized ovum, occurs within day or so of the sex. However, it takes about 2-3 weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG to produce a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully.

Maybe pregnant: Sometimes after an ectopic pregnancy there is a delay in the return of your menstrual cycle. Therefore, not having a period doesn't mean you are pregnant. A home pregnancy test in a few days would give you an answer. Personally I would have recommended 3 months before trying to conceive again after an ectopic.
