Yes and yes: "Dormant" isn't quite the right word, but gonorrhea and most other STDs can be silent, causing no symptoms. However, the tests still will detect it. This is why all sexually active young people should have periodic testing. If you haven't recently been tested for STDs (gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, HIV) ask your doctor or visit a health department or Planned Parenthood clinic. Good luck!
