Normal on Implanon: The most common side effect of IMPLANON® is a change in normal menstrual bleeding pattern. It is not unusual to have shorter and/or lighter periods, or to skip periods. The thick brown discharge you are experiencing is due to minimal bleeding during your period. Some women stopped taking Implanon due to changes in menstrual periods, while others see fewer and/or lighter periods as a blessing.
