Cold and joint pain: Often, cold weather can cause joints to swell and hurt. This can happen with arthritis history. Also, normal people often get the swelling and joint pain with Raynaud's syndrome, where hands turn blue with cold (need gloves) and can get numb acutely. When warmed, these symptoms go away. Some of these people get systemic joint symptoms over time and get chronic treatment. A rheumatologist helps.
