Not really normal: Any vaginal discharge that is on the brown to red spectrum is usually caused by bleeding. A small amount of blood mixed in with secretions will turn brown. Bleeding after intercourse is not necessarily something terrible, but it's not normal, and it needs to be looked into. It could simply be from too much friction, or from an infection, a polyp, or even cervical dysplasia. Please see your GYN
