Drug interactions: I found on drug-drug interactions btwn Advil (brand of ibuprofen, an anti-inflammatory pain medication) and Cefpodoxime (a cephalosporin-class antibiotic) at https://www.drugs.com/interactions-check.php?drug_list=552-0,1310-782. But be sure to read about potential side effects of each, especially gastritis from former, and vaginal yeast infection & diarrhea from latter.

None: Otc Motrin (ibuprofen) and prescribed Motrin have the same molecule and action. Prescription medication can be in a higher dose per pill but you can take more otc meds to equal that. Always be mindful of the ability of these drugs to cause excess stomach acidity and ulcers especially in the elderly. You may need an acidic blocker for your stomach.

Ice, heat, stretch: You can apply local ice, 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off, to keep from burning the skin with cold. Ice tends to last longer than heat. Watch for burning with heat if you do use it. Finally gentle stretching may help too. If nothing works ask doctor for trial of muscle relaxant.
