A member asked:

I find black dots in my stool recently, sometimes it is as big as peppercorn,at times crushed,i'm not really eating anything colored but chicken mostl?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Black dots: Black pigment in stools can come from blood high up in the gastrointestinal tract, from taking iron supplements or vitamins containing iron, or from taking peptobismol. A simple stool test in your physicians office can test your stool sample for occult blood. If this is negative, I wouldn't worry about the black dots.
