A 69-year-old male asked:
Disclaimer

I have a large flap of belly fat that reaches my pubes due to my obesity. I heard that surgery on it has a very painful recovery period. Is it true?

Obesity: You must speak to your doctor about this and you will both decide what needs to be done. A Surgery doctor may or may not decide for abdominal surgery. There are ways to reduce diet and increase activity. Hope all goes well.
