See your regular doc: He or she will do an x-ray (and possibly an mri). If fractures or dislocations are seen, your doctor can refer you to an orthopedist or spine surgeon he or she trusts. Injuries to the coccyx can be pretty painful. Using a doughnut cushion and nsaids can help. Some times injections to the area and other interventional or surgical procedures need to be employed.

Family practice : I would recommend seeing your pmd. He could order an x-ray if needed. Probable contusion but could be a fracture. Take NSAID and consider pt. A massage or chiropractic treatment could be considered.

Your Dr: Since it has been this long, it clearly is not a surgical emergency, so your dr can start the evaluation & order the initial MRI +/- x-rays (depending on exam). From there, if a surgical issue, can refer you, or if not, can point you to physiatry & pt.
