Prostatitis: Chlamydia is not known to infect the prostate. Most prostatitis is not due to any known infection;. Antibiotics are tried, typically for 4-6 weeks, but usually don't make any difference. If you had a positive test for chlamydia and have prostatitis, you have two separate problems. Chlamydia requires only a single dose of azithromycin, or 7 days of doxycycline.
