Dr. John Chiu answered

Depends: Some baby may recover within months but others may linger on forever. If your baby does have eczema, be sure to apply a moisturizer on the skin immediately after bathing on a regular basis. About 70% of the eczema cases (atopic eczema) recovers by age 7. If the problem persists and becomes worse, see allergist. Do note that in eczema, allergens can sensitize a person through skin contact.
