Tonsillitis: It depends on what kind of tonsillitis/ST you have. If it is viral, fluids, Tylenol, lozenges. If it is strep +, Amoxicillin med x 10 days will treat bacteria there. More info!,: What is your age? Real tonsillitis will require antibiotics, and evaluation with laryngoscopes by ENT. An untreated persistent infection of the tonsils may degenerate into an abscess or get into bloodstream and cause further more serious problems!gargles and topical OTC remedies will fail to resolve the underlying problem.
